Are
eyelash extensions safe?
This procedure is extremely safe when
performed by trained cosmetologists or trained professionals and
when eyelash extensions are applied using approved
products.
How do I know who can wear eyelash
extensions?
Almost anyone can wear eyelash
extensions - ranging across cultures, contact lense wearers,
glasses, sports people & short
lashes.
My eyes are extremely sensitive & prone to
irritation. Can I still apply eyelash extensions?
Lasting Lashes trained
extensionists are taught how to handle this and what
precautions are necessary to take prior to extensions
application. Clients are also advised of a course of action
they can follow pre & post eyelash application to
ensure almost no sensitivity &
irritation.
Can these products cause lash
loss?
No, when individual lash extensions are
applied or removed in the correct manner, there is no risk of lash
loss. Only forces such as pulling, rubbing or plucking from the
actual follicle will cause damage. Inferior products, lack of
professional training and poor application will result in a loss of
lashes as well.
How do I
know if the glue that the salon is using is safe for clients /
eyes / sensitivity etc?
Suppliers of bonders, glues,
debonders etc are legally bound to keep material safety and
data sheets. If the suuplier / salon can not provide this for you be
extremely aware of the products. Products that are brought
into the country illegally are not supplied with these documents.
Inferior quality and cheap raw materials are used for these
products.
There
are so many glues & bonders in the market place? Is there
really such a price difference versus quality?
There most certainly is! A bonder that is
R150 can most certainly not be compared to another of R400.
Generally, the cheaper bonders are used for training purposes only
until the student has mastered the art of eyelash extensions,
has a slower drying time, is prone to produce an excessive
amount of strong vapours which lead to irritation of the clients
eyes and to prevent wastage of the professional bonder. The
cheaper bonder is also used with eyelash extension courses that are
cheaper in price. The professional range of bonders can not be
compared to these glues at all! The glues have a quick setting time,
are less prone to vapours, durability of the lashes is extremely
good and thinner texture makes it easier for the technician to work
with.
Can the
products from the kit be ordered individually?
Yes, all kit components are available
individually at selected branches. Should stock not be held at a
certain traning branch. All stock can be ordered from Head
Office (012) 653-3808 & will be couriered within 24 hours
of payment being made.
How much should
my Salon charge for this service?
As a recommended starting / launching
price R350 – R550 and include the first touch up /
maintenance. Thereafter your Salon must determine where the
market is and adjust price accordingly. Once your business has
been established in this market, prices vary from R100 – R1050 per
session and depending on the amount of touch ups that would be
required to be done and the extensionists expertise.
How often should my client return for touch
ups?
Lashes should be checked at 2-3 week
intervals initially and thereafter as per advice from your
extentionist.
How many sets of Lasting Lashes applications are in
one kit?
Depending on the manner in which your
technologist works approximately 150 – 175 sets per kit.
What is
the difference between clear coating & the
mascarra?
Clear coating forms a clear coating (barrier) around
the lashes protecting it from any moisture penetration. This
is suitable for people wearing extensions to prolong the life of the
eyelash extensions.
Can my
clients wear mascara?
Yes, bearing in mind that this should
be a water soluble mascara. It is advisable that you supply your
client with the black mascarra which was specially designed to
form a protective barrier over the lashes and enhance their look at
the same time. At no time may waterproof mascara be
worn. This will damage the bonds.
What is the difference between
individual lashes & clusters/ 5 in 1’s / Flairs?
Individual lashes as the name implies
are grafted individually to each single natural lash using specific
techniques. Clusters are lashes with groups of 4 – 6 hairs.
Extreme caution should be exercised when using our bonder to apply
these as this could result in severe loss of natural lashes.
This happens because the group of hairs pulls at the natural lashes
from several different directions.
What eye make-up remover may my
clients use?
Lasting Lashes
stocks a gentle oil free eye make-up reover designed for
eyelash extensions .
Caution must be
exercised when cleansing the eyes as extreme rubbing could damage
the bonds.
Why are our products so much cheaper
than the competition?
Lasting Lashes purchases all products
directly from the International Manufacturers / Suppliers leaving
out all the middlemen. The quantities purchased by us also results
in Lasting Lashes receiving an additional percentage discount which
is then past on to the clients.
How do our products compare to the
competition?
Lasting Lashes does not compare! Our
quality control and suppliers have stringent control and quality
measures in place. Products are tested thoroughly before any new
stock is ordered and supplied to ensure best quality at all times.
We endevour to always bring you new more advanced products.
Can other products be used with
Lasting Lashes products?
While this at all times is not
suggested, it can be done. Mixing of products is never advisable as
it becomes difficult to quality control / determine if there is a
problem with a specific product. Bear in mind that Lasting Lashes
